Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- We fight plagiarism: please understand that your article will be checked with available tools for discovering plagiarism.
- Please read this advice and download associated files. The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors has recently published in all ICMJE journals an editorial introducing a new “Disclosure Form for Potential Conflict of Interest”, with the aim to establish uniform reporting system, which can go over the existing differences in current formats or editors’ requests. We at PAGEPress Publications welcome this initiative as a possible uniforming, standardizing way to have this important disclosure authorizing the publications of manuscripts. We are therefore asking you to duly fill in the “Uniform Format for Disclosure of Competing Interests in ICMJE Journals” and upload it on the Web site of the PAGEPress journal your work is involved with or email it back to us, in mind to allow PAGEPress to peer-reviewing your work. The document is in Adobe format, it includes instructions to help authors provide the requested information and the completion procedure is user-friendly. Kindly note that the format have to be completed and signed by each author of the work. We remain waiting for the completed form to proceed with publication. Please be informed that if this Disclosure Form is missing, we will not be able to publish your work.
- Authors are kindly required to suggest at least two potential reviewers (name, affiliation and e-mail) for their manuscript in the "Comments to the Editor" field (Step 1. Submission Process).
- The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or PDF document file format.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- This journal charge a publication fee for publication: by submitting their manuscript to Dermatology Reports, authors agree to pay the amount due whether their manuscript will be accepted for publication.
Articles
3500 words max, unstructured abstract 180 words max, 30 references max, 3/5 tables and/or figures.
In general, this kind of publication should be divided into an Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions and References.
A maximum of 10 authors is permitted and additional authors should be listed in an ad hoc Appendix.
Reviews
4000 words max, unstructured abstract 250 words max, 40 references max, 3/5 tables and/or figures
Reviews should be introduced by a general summary of content in the form of an unstructured Abstract. Following a short introduction, putting the study into context and defining the aim, reviews will concentrate on the most recent developments in the field. A review should clearly describe the search strategy followed (key words, inclusion, exclusion criteria, search engines, ...).
No particular format is required; headings should be used to designate the major divisions of the paper.
A maximum of 10 authors is permitted and additional authors should be listed in an ad hoc Appendix.
Brief Reports
About 2000 words, unstructured abstract 150 words max, 20 references max, 3 tables and/or figures.
Short reports of results from original research. They should be introduced by a general summary of content in the form of an Abstract.
They must provide conclusive findings: preliminary observations or incomplete findings cannot be considered for publication.
A maximum of 10 authors is permitted and additional authors should be listed in an ad hoc Appendix.
Case Reports
Only Case Reports presenting unique and exceptional cases accompanied by a literature review will be considered for peer review and potential publication. Submissions must provide clear evidence of novelty and clinical relevance. Manuscripts that do not offer significant new insights or that closely resemble previously published cases will not be accepted.

Reports describing observations on clinical cases that can be educational, including adverse effects of drugs or outcomes of a specific treatment.
Case reports should adhere to the tenets of the CARE statement. Reports of observational studies should adhere to the tenets of the STROBE statement. Reports of animal studies should adhere to the tenets of the ARRIVE statement.
They should be divided into: Abstract, Introduction, Case report(s), Discussion, Conclusions and References. A maximum of 10 authors is permitted and additional authors should be listed in an ad hoc Appendix.
Editorials
Editorials should address any important issue relevant to health care in Dermatology, including clinical, research, public health, and health policy issues. Editorials should be well-focused, scholarly, and clearly presented.
Maximum length: up to 1000 words of text, 2 tables/figures, no more than 10 references which should be as current as possible.
Letters to the Editor
800 words max. These are written on invitation, short essays that express the authors’ viewpoint, may respond to published manuscripts in our journals, or deliver information or news regarding an issue related to the Journal scope. If the letter relates to a published manuscript, the authors of the original manuscript will be given the opportunity to provide a respond. Authors of Letters to the Editor should provide a short title.
A maximum of 10 authors is permitted and additional authors should be listed in an ad hoc Appendix.
Surgical skill in a nutshell
This section has an educational purpose. It should be structured in the form of a short report. Contributing authors should present, in a concise way, a surgical technique adopted to treat a given cutaneous lesion discussing advantages compared with alternative procedures. The piece should be no longer than 400 words and with no more than three authors. Further info here.
Congress Reports
Dermatology Reports can publish short summaries of scientific congresses in the field of dermatology. They should be no longer than 8000 characters and should include the following items:
1. Short presentation of the organizing society.
2. Description of the congress structure and the program.
3. Summary of the main presentations and news from the congress.
Up to 3 items between figures and tables can be accepted.
